View Full Version : Intro to my Stenos
hey
Just recently my Stenos produced some eggs for me. So, i thought i would share the geckos that got me interested in herps. They are small, tiny specimens, but they hold great value to me :D
So here they are:

those are awesome..i dont get how all that tank works though...is it a tank in a tank or is it just me?
Yupper!
That is a tank within a thank. I recently fabricated the smaller tank. But instead of drilling holes into the acrylic, i decided to lower the sides. Thus leaving a gap to allow air flow. Right now i'm just testing it to determine if the stenos can escape. I doubt it though. As shown below:

The outer tank is much larger. It's actually for two newly aquired crested geckos. Btw, it's not done yet. I'm waiting for the "top" panel to be fabricated.
"top" is actually the front of the tank. the tank is currently on it's "back" :D

You will be amazed how high those little guys can jump LOL.
Let me know if you are interested in trading some hatchlings later in the year.
What is their full name, common or scientific. I'd like to do some research on them. They're supper cool, remind me of my vipers.

The ones I have are Stenodactylus sthenodactylus. A care sheet can be found at gekkota.com
Stenodactylus sthenodactylus is the name of mine as well. I THINK!?!... I don't really know. The guy at the pet store said they are sand dune geckos. I searched the literature and they resemble Stenodactylus sthenodactylus. But they could be S. Petrii. I don't know. Anyone wanna ID this gecko?

Trade? Sure. I'll PM you when they hatch :D

I would say they are Stenodactylus sthenodactylus. Very nice to see more people keeping these great little geckos.
Have you hatched any before? If not send me a pm if you want any incubation help.
