I have to say, North American pit vipers rule. Just gorgeous animals by all means. I should find some money and time to herp with some FLA herper friends and see some of this for myself someday.

Thanks guys. I'm setting my sights on getting photos of wild canebrake rattlesnakes this year. Like the coppers, they may be common in other states, but I have yet to get a photo (although never really tried) of one here IN Florida. Then I would have seen and photoed all the venomous found here: E.diamondbacks, FL. water moccasins, dusky pigmy rattlesnakes, southern copperheads,e. coral snakes, and hopefully soon the canebrake.
Wish me luck!
Some of my pics are on www.crimsonking.funtigo.com and there's a link to "Snakes of Florida" I'm working on located on the first page there on the bottom.
