Not alot at the moment but there's lots on the way. I keep Crotalus viridis oreganus, Tropidolaemus wagleri. There's a whole bunch of Asiatic species on the way over the summer so I'm pretty stoked about that. Finding a good source for Ture Vipers on the other hand is very difficult. As is a good source of North American hots. Any help would be appreciated.

Got me a C. atrox (which I vowed to never keep) and a C. cerberus, both male and sub-adults. I recently gave some neonate C.c.cercobombus I had to a few folks. I will keep more buzztails in time when I move from my current home. These guys are to addictive.

Major kudos snakeskin for all of the sucsess with the ccs! Interested in tradeing bloodlines? Whats their origin if you dont mind me asking.

Hey Mustangrde1, what do you mean by Nubian Cobra? I have never heard that used as a common name for any African naja. Just curious.

Adios,
J

Snakeskin,
I do not think that B.a.somalica is correct..... The somali puff adder is still just B.arietans...... Good luck with all the eggs and breeding this year..... Good Job......
ETET, welcome back.... :)
Jeremy, Wassup man....... Hey whats with the reverse pairs????

Jeremy
04-06-04, 10:48 AM
Reverse pairs??? Uh, feeble minded hot keeper no understand. :-)
Do you mean having two females for one male or visa versa? Its just the luck of the draw and what happend to be avaivlble to me when I had the loot to spend.

BTW, I ment 1.2 A.l.lubricus:-)

Good luck with the fat b@stards aka Bitis:-) Though i dont normally condone hybridization I do find the idea of a gabinoxpuffy very interesting. Have you every seen the new "Guide to Reptiles of East Africa"? Its got a picture of a gabby puff cross in it. Pretty interesting but nowhere near as beautiful as the gabinos. The book is a great read if you havent seen it already. I definately recomend it!!

Welp, cya!

I saw the pics Jeremy..... Nice looking animal...... Not as nice as the gabino but as you said interesting indeed..... Who knows..... I might get an animal that look mostly like a puff with a bit of a color splash.... :)..... What I ment by reverse pair is 2.1..... I should have said reverse group.....LOL.... See what I am saying now fellow feeble minded hot keeper....LOL..... I also do not condone hybriization but gaboon rhino crosses are natural and so are gaboon puff adder crosses..... I am just putting my own little twist on it...... Hey someone has to do it, right???? LOL why sould I not be the first.....LOL
Good luck to you also this breeding season....... Expecting anything?????
Later bud....

@ Gregg M:

I do not think that B.a.somalica is correct..... The somali puff adder is still just B.arietans

Bitis arietans somalica was described by Parker (1949) on the basis of having keeled subcaudal scales. It occurs in Somalia and Northern Kenya.

The subspecies status of Bitis a. somalica was recently acknowledged by Spawls et al (2002).

~TE

Hi J, :)

My animals were captive bred in Germany, they are 5 years old now and this is the first time they breed..

Interested? Yes, very interested... But I guess it'll be hard to swop youngsters since I'm from Europe.. :(

I'd be very interested in A.scutatus..., but, fact of the matter is that I've got no idea how to get my animals overseas, and vice versa...

Cheers,
Peter

Hey Brian, what you are planning to do with that mass of EDBs? Those things are going to eat you out of house and home if keep them all to adult size?

I have lined up homes for them where they will be used for Education. Food is not an issue. I give away 20 pounds of rodents a month just to make room. I even have a friend's freezer full right now. I get between 100 and 200 pounds of rodents quarterly for next to nothing. Frozen is not a problem. But with the rescues, it has taken live on some of them. Amazingly, most of the babies took f/t for their first meal here. I am very pleased. Hopefully some of the babies will be going to their new homes this weekend.

That is good work you are doing man. I know we don’t usually see eye to eye (good opportunity for a short joke here, but I will pass), but I am behind you 100% on this. I have often though we need to do more to stop this slaughter, glad you are on the cutting edge.

Hey Mustangrde1,
I had completely forgotten about the split in Naja pallida. My bad! Any chance of yoyu posting a pic of this critter? I would like to compare to pallida.

As for the annulifera, I dont have any pics yet but I will have to do a session soon. Those things are growing much faster then anyother serpents Ihave ever raised!! My god!! They are alos rather calm and docile. I still dont trust the bastards but with the exception of one female they are extreamly easy to work with. The female mentioned is extreamly runny and bitey but nothing too severe or unmanageble.

The male is over 3 and the females are only a few inches behind him. These guys are definately not the bannded form however which doesnt bug me too much. One female is almost blond in color and the other is greenish with a darker, almost blue stripe running down her back. These guy are very interesting and I am glad I jumped on the oppirtunity to get them.

Well man, I will post pics soon.

Later,
J
