I purchased a bp in september at 21 inches long or so and weighed 365 grams ... As of April 1st, its now 2.5 feet long and weighs 800 grams ... is this an adequate growth?
thanks for your help
P.S. Eats med. rat every 5-7 days ...or 2 adult mice every 5-7 days ... depends on availability at the store
Growth rates vary, what you're feeding seems adequate.
It sounds like he/she is growing at a good rate. I have read that they grow about one foot per year for the first 3 years. So far this has proved to be true for mine. I bought her as a baby 2 yrs ago at roughly 16-18 inches long and she is now about 40 inches.
For females, I go for 1500g by 1.5 years.

Males can go when they are producing sperm. That could be as early as 500g or so... maybe later as well.
