Pet tax?

Heard on the radio that the government might bring in a "pet tax" its $1.50 per pound of animal!!! not a huge amout of money for me but some of you snake people having 40 + pound snakes...:S ouch. anyway just thought id see if you have heard too? or what

Strange idea- who would go around weighing the pets?

Now a tax per pet would be easier to manage, but think of the tropical fish breeders...

Tip for avoiding sucker stories: Google for previous mention of news incident.

Also, pets are handled at a municipal level, not federal or provincial. So even if a pet tax were put in place it would be localized to one municipality.

Be more concerned about real issues like by-laws that ban our pets.

I dunno, in other threads about by-laws it seems most people just say "don't tell anyone you have reptiles".

Sounds kind of defeatist.

Even the pet shops don't seem interested in having a say against them :(

well the thing is you can have 5 or 10 people you need atleast a decent turnout and some people who can bring in facts and prove what your talking about
