My 5 month old white water rosey boa don't want to eat. I put him in a seperate cage w/ a pinky w/ his head split open and w/ a product called mouse maker which is supposed to enhance the smell of the pinky. My wife told me that he struck at it and then just let it go don't know why can anybody give me some advice.

how long have you had it?
are the temps in its enclosure good?
does it had a couple of hides?
ist it in a high traffic area or are you handling it a lot?

the temps are about 85 in his feeding cage. He has a smaller cage to feed in. I put him in my closet when hes feeding so he won't be bothered and check on him every 30 min. I've had about a week now. But my other that I bought at the same time ate great. And in his regular cage he has to hides 1 in the cool and 1 in the hot. But not 1 in his feeding cage my vet just told me to put him in the cage w/ the mouse in their already w/ no substrate.

maybe just give him a bit more time, he could still be a bit stressed from being in a new place.

i would wait about another 5 days or so and try again.

Are you feeding live? No matter they are only pinkies. Cover the snakes cage and leave it alone for a FULL WEEK. Then put it in its feeding tub cover that and leave it over night. NO PEEKING. JUst relax and dont worry let us know how it goes next thursday.

Just because one snake has settled in doesnt mean the other one will even under the same conditions. I have 2 JCPs got them both at the same time and they were in identical setups one ate right away and the other didnt eat for 2 months.
