Hi everybody,
My tokay is extremly aggressive... I am not really suprised but I want to try and tame him anyways without losing my fingers. How would I go about doing this? Would heavy gloves work or grab him a certain way?

Yep,
But he isn't sold and I want to try and work with him while I do have him. I don't think ignoring him cause I want to sell him is okay.
you don't have to handle him to pay attention to him.

Thanks for the valuable info guys... Does anyone have any useful comments on how to handle agressive gecko's?

I wouldnt use a grab method, try a scoop motion, put one hand infront of hime and tickle his behind to coax him onto your hand. picking them up feels as if a predator is grabbing, or trying to eat them, and they will be more aggressive.
Take him into your bathroom, close off the vents and throw some towels at the bottom and close the drains on the sink and tub, make it a totally controlled and safe area. Once all that is done then let him loose in there and you can attempt to handle him and let him have his own space. I used this method to tame my psychotic 14 inch male I used to have and it worked great.

Hey, first off get yourself a pair of gloves, that fit tightly (so you have the same movement as without gloves), don’t use something with material hell get his teeth stuck on a thin leather or plastic glove will work, big bulky gloves make it harder, I would not suggest trying too poke from behind too get him too run onto your hand he'll just spin around and grab that hand, what I do is put on the gloves, lay the back of my hand on the bottom of the cage so its completely flat, with your fingers pointing straight at him, and slowly move toward move head on, i find they don’t freak out as much if they can see what’s coming slowly, I can normally slide my fingers right under his head ( his mouth wide open) and then under his body then lift, from every time I’ve tried ( and I’ve deemed mine untamable) this was the best way too do it, I’ve tried putting one hand behind him too coax him toward my hand but he freaks out, going directly and slowly not form behind or on top normally works of me, yes he bites but that’s why I have gloves lol, I don’t even try too tame him now, but if I need too move him that’s how I do it. The main tick is, do whatever makes you comfortable, and remember its biting because its terrified not because its mean, every animals different so is every person so you have too go a lot of the time by trial and error, good luck
