New to snakes

Sorry for the cross posting but didn't realize the first one was for just pythons. Any way I am looking for a small snake that likes to be handled. I would like it to live in a 25g or 30g tank. most of the ones I can think of with that type size and ability to be handled would be hard to find if they escaped. fairly high metabolism makes them able to move fast and body size gets them through very small openings. pins, clips, or locks everytime and scratch your head when one gets out anyway.

Rosy boa would be PERFECT for you. They are small (~3'), docile, slowmoving, very tolerant of handling, and are super easy to care for provided you dont give them constant access to water or humid conditions. I disagree with a solomon island ground boa as a first snake, they can be very poor feeders since they are naturally lizard eaters. Rainbow boas are also not good starter snakes and can definitely not live in a 30 gallon tank since they can reach lengths of 7 feet.

My Rosy Boa, Dozer, is the cutest sweetest little thing! I think he is a great first snake, easy to take care of and absolutely beautiful. Although my roommate would disagree he has quite a little personality! :) He is spoiled and in a 36x12 tank, but I think that you can keep them in much smaller enclosures.

I feed him pinkies once a week, and give him water about every two weeks. And since he needs low humidity, his tank doesnt get dirty at all, I rarely change it, just spot clean!
