Very cool snakes. I tried keeping a pair of those alive, but they both died within a month. How do you do it?

Neat! Almost looks like a cross between a corn and a garter. Very cool stripe on those guys. What's the latin for those guys?

Well asian rat snakes like it to be a bit more on the cold side. They don't really need that much heat at all..room temperature is already good enough. But of course I am not yet experienced to say this for all of them but for now they are doing fine~~ some might even want it to be a bit more damped too.

The latin name for the red spots is: Elaphe Rufodorsata

Don't you think they aren't rat snakes (Elaphe)but something else and should be re-classified if they haven't been already?? I think I remember seeing something about that not long ago.

What are you feeding them? Might wanna find an alternative to rodents as these guys aren't primarily rodent eaters in the wild and I've seen (and heard) too many deaths related to an all rodent diet. I've heard a few people suspect fatty liver disease being the culprit. The pair I had 3 yrs ago both died at the same time, out of the blue. This happened even though they were feeding very aggresively on pinks and had good body weight. I wish I had done a necropsy to confirm things.

Yeah I think that you're right too, but I am not 100% certain on the change of latin name yet. So that's why I just go with the old name for now.

I think that they should reclassify them as well...they don't really look too much like rats to me too~~ but they were Elaphes before (or even may still be now)

Well I have only tried to offer pinkies (rodents) to them as diets right now. But as of yet I don't have too much luck with them eating....
what other food item would you think might be good for them?

Ohh ya got your new snakes then huh bud...How many did ya end up getting?

I would try a garter type diet. Frogs, worms, fish etc. Good luck on them! Would be nice to see CB babies of them. Never seen any CB or even LTC of those even in the US.
