I have been wondering what substrate to use. My dad always likes to use newspaper because it is inexpensive and easy to clean. But the moss is more attractive holds moisture and diferent things. I was wondering what you think. By the way it is for a 4ft female Columbian Red-tail Boa.

Moss for a boa would suck.
newspaper definetly. moss would really suck for a boa-id say because of their poo and if it gets too wet scale rot could happen. if you wanted something to look nice though, maybe som kind of reptile dirt like eco-earth or whatever? i'v never used dirt for mine though, just newspaper.

Moss for a boa would indeed suck, as Jeff so tactfully put it. :D
Boas don't require that much humidity, and dry moss can be a severe irritant. Go with newspaper.

If you don't like the look of newspaper, you could go to an art supply store and buy plain newsprint, its pretty inexpensive and may be more visually appealling
