View Full Version : snakes & natural vivariums
Anyone keeps snakes in a natural set-up? All my snakes now are in cages with newspaper but I would like to set up one in a natural setting. My grey band. I know snakes tend to tunnel and uproot stuff so this might be a problem. She's in a 30 gallon tank now and is 2 1/2 feet. Any suggestions or maybe just not a good idea? Thanks.:)

I'm personally a big fan of keeping my animals in natural enclosures. After-all, If Im going keep them, Im going to go the extra mile. I'm not all to sure on what grey bands need and whatknot however, Anything large and heavy should be placed into the enclosure before anything else, including substrate.
After that you can do pretty much whatever, put the plants in then the substrate or you can add that then the plants. Doesn't really matter, as long as they are not able to bury underneath anything that will crush them. Simple.
This will house two Western Diamondbacks Rattlesnakes..
Just an Idea.
