First herps of the year- leopard frogs near Welland

Found several live (and a few DOR) leopard frogs crossing the road just outside of Welland tonight. First herps of the year for me!

I had my first snakes and turtles of the year today.

1- Butlers Garter
1- E. Garter
1- Garter not sure

The E. Garter was about 2 feet long and made nice work of my hand drawing blood in 4 different places which I thought was quite amusing. Also saw a few painted turtles and heard chorus frogs calling.

that is very cool guys. We went out two weekends ago, tons of frogs, salamanders, and the toadlets, whoa. They were everywhere. We went to Jone's Lake, Near Hope, BC
