6 foot tree for ball python

Was thinking of getting a tree 6 foot tall with some sort of netting around it so my snake don't escape. Any Ideas?

Balls are not that arboreal, stick witha viv with a branch or so to climb on

Ball pythons aren't that arboreal. Plus they aren't graceful and one would probably hurt itself climbing a tree that tall.
1.5 ft would be tall enough for a good size branch for a ball python to climb on.

Are you planning of keeping your snake in a tree and using net to keep it on the tree?

Sorry man, maybe a ball python is not suited to your needs. The 6' tree idea is not going to work well for a ball python... or most other snakes for that matter. Bad idea.... don't do it.

I would think it would be way stressful for any snake. Besides, how would you keep a hot spot? Or a cool spot?

Wasn't going to keep my snake in the tree long, only when I clean his tank.

Why would you spend that much time and that much money on a 6 foot netted tree for a snake "while you are cleaning"? Do you think we are stupid? You clean, what... once a week for 10 minutes? No one would spend that much time and money on a climbing tree for 10 minutes a week. It's obvious you intend to keep him in there for display purposes, and if this is the case, please sell your ball python to someone who will treat it properly. If I'm way off base here, then can you tell me why you'd put this much effort into a temporary cleaning facility? Not that it matters, because as people have said, very bad idea.

definetly not a good idea....my ball has a short branch in her enclosure (its only about 6 inches off the ground) and she falls off it CONSTANTLY. anything much higher and i would be worried about her getting hurt.

Hi when I read your post the first thing that came too mind was exactly what SerpentLust said, if your going too have a 6 foot tree, with a screen enclosure, that would work great for a chameleon, if your more into snakes pick yourself up a tree boa or other arboreal species, balls are heavy bodied clumsy animals, mine falls out of the branch in his cage and its only a foot high, actually I decided too put 2 other branches angling too the ground from it because I was worried she would eventually hurt herself on that, a 6 foot drop could be very dangerous too a ball, and if it get up there it will drop.

Balls are ground snakes. Get yourself another python to climb like a carpet or a childrens or something that is aboreal by nature. As mentioned BPs aren't the most coordinated snakes when it come to climbing & its not worth the risk of injury. Other than that its a good idea for an aboreal snake to get some exercise climbing.
