View Full Version : This one's for the King *pic*
And anyone one else who loves FL kings. Finally ended up with a half decent shot after experimenting with different lighting to show her true colours. Male's in shed Mark. Will get an updated pic of him soon enough. He's brilliant! :D

Looking very nice and looks like she is a good size too. Thanks for sharing the photo - always great to appreciate the different varieties of these,

Sweet Vanan!! Can't wait to see the male!
Hold the presses.
That pic does nothing for her colour! And the male, oh he is SO PRETTY.
Glad I got my goini or I'd be coveting yet MORE of Vanan's snakes.

Maybe CrimsonKing can tell us more about this beautiful phase of FL intergrade kings! :D Maybe a pic or two of your adult female? ;)

http://photos.herphost.com/albums/userpics/mscales1a.JPG Vanan, a close friend coined the name "mahogany" to describe the color in the center of the bands that on some will be much more intense than others. He started with a wc female that was saved from a lawnmower cut believe it or not. In our area (Tampa FL.) the king is said to be the peninsula intergrade king (L.g. getula X L.g. floridana). Anyway, he and I have bred them to get as much of the color as we can. I really like the juveniles as the color starts to come in. I just parted with my keeper pair from this year and their heads and faces have lots of brown highlights. I bet they turn out gorgeous. This pic shows some of the colors we're talking about on a mature animal. Nothing earth shattering for sure. Just a bit "different":)

Wow Vanan! He's really nice! Great pic too! :)
Dunno about being brownish eventually as this guy's only been getting redder and lighter. The male mahog, post-shed.
