I was at a used book store in London recently so I went looking for old herp books and found a couple of prizes :)

Unfortunately neither is a first print, and they're stamped with the names of the schools that used to own them, but it's still a cool find.

The one on the left is "They Hop and Crawl" by Percy Morris. It's a second edition printed in 1945.

The other books is "The Reptiles of North America". It's the second edition, printed in 1936. The first edition was printed in 1907!!! It's loaded with photographic plates in the back. Most are black and white but there's the odd color plate.

Anyone else find any interesting old goodies?

That's a great find man.. I might have to go to one of those library sales that they always seem to have around here and see what i can find..

I did something similar and found a copy of snakes of Canada by Barbara Froom from 1974.

The 'treasure' of my collection is "Encyclopedia of Reptiles and Amphibians" by John F. Breen, from 1974.
It's amazing how husbandry has changed over the years, it's fun to read. I'm surprised some of the animals actually survived with the recommended care back then. Like they say, "We've come a long way, baby" :)
