Hehe - I got to go see Opeth/DevilDriver/Moonspell (descending order of course lol) and then picked up a pristine M/F pair of ball pythons on the way back.
Enjoy the show, bro.

Anybody else think the new metallica sucks? I mean the old metallica was awesome i.e. "Garage Inc.", "Ride the lightning" etc etc. But this St. Anger and stuff I find crappy, very crappy!

yeah i dont really care for St. Anger that much. seems like they tried too much to fit into todays hard rock.
im not into the whole rock thing but its depends on who you are everyones past reflects on what music they listen 2

Hehe I use the term inclusively and generically - no offense . . chica. Just to date myself I bought "Kill 'Em All" when it was first released :P.

Aww man! That's awesome Erin. Have a great time. I've been listening to Metallica for 15 years now. One of my favorite bands. I'm not such a big fan of the newer stuff, but anything from the black album back absolutely kicks ***!

I never liked metallica when I was in high school because I was very old school heavy metal and they seemed to be a new trend type of band....however ever since I've met my wife I've been straightened out..lol
hey Erin, I saw metallica in Ottawa about 12 years ago and it was a one band show...they ROCKED...and they still do:)
The bad thing is I thought they were going to be in Vancouver sooner so I thought I would still be writing exams. As it turns out the concert is on the night of my last exam, grrr. Still love the old stuff, but I really wish Bob Rock didn't let everyone do the lyrics to the last album.

Orion and Call of Ktulu for sure. Best instrumentals (other than Anesthesia) ever. No question.
Band don't do them anymore. Wonder why? My guess is something to do with lack of skillz.

One, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Sanatarium, Blitzkrieg (sp?), Master of Puppets. Hell, it's ALL good.

I've got an old Venom poster (seven dates of hell tour) with metallica as the support band. All this "the old stuff is better" takes me back to the release of And Justice For All, thats when this talk first started wasn't it?

Best show's i've ever seen were the Justice tour and the black tour. They actually played Moncton, New Brunswick years ago. Best ever, even better than Kiss and Iron Maiden!! :) Best song vote "the four horsemen".

I know its a strong statement but nobody ever rocked me like Metallica live in their prime!!! If you were not there you might not understand. An adrenaline rush like you wouldn't believe...

agreed....nobody rocks live like Metallica. I saw them in Halifax on the Justice tour and again just a few years ago at the government(sp) in Toronto....that show was killer...up close and personal...absolutely amazing. My ears rang for a couple of days after that one.

One of my all time favorite bands. I was lucky enough to see them not so long ago for theyre sanatarium tour. Haven't missed them on tour since ride the lightening when theyve come to toronto or buffalo. Im an extreme die hard fan...i have the action figures, the stage etc times two!!! One on display...the other still in boxes. As a guitar player i don't usually tend to play alot of other ppls stuff..but there is just something about the metallica groove that makes me want to play and play. I never get tired of playing theyre stuff, i love playing master of puppets, horseman, sanatarium and hit the lights the most...but have even been known to bust out in a bit of the slower stuff once in awhile. Here is to praying that i see them again soon!!! :D

Lol...i guess my sister must have stayed logged in....sorry..shes not a metallica fan by anymeans lmao...the above are my comments, Shane :)
The concert was amazing!!!!! My b/f and I were on the floor. I had so much fun. Godsmack was amazing and Metallica was....Metallica. Sooooo much fun:)
I haven't been a big fan since the self titled album. The music just seemed to go down hill and lose it's edge since Bob Rock got involved.
Got to see the show when they were by them selves at the gardens, was a good show with the pyros, the drum battle between lars and james was awesome, probably the highlight of the show.

Sorry about the delay, but, the concert ROCKED! They played all my favourite songs, especially near the end. My favourites being 'Sad But True', 'Master Of Puppets', 'Enter: Sandman', 'Nothing Else Matters', and 'One' to name a few. Needless to say, I gave myself whiplash. :D
I didn't have too bad of a seat either, I was in Section 106, Row 15, Seat 5. I could see them pretty good. :)
The opening band, Godsmack, put on a great show too. They played 'Whatever' and 'Voodoo' almost right off the bat which happen to be my faves by them.
The pyrotechnics were awesome for both performances, ESPECIALLY during Metallica's performance of 'One'. The singer from Godsmack had a drum solo going with the drummer, and both drum sets were on rotating platforms. It was WICKED. :D
