humidity

i have not yet been able to get a book
and everyone says how important it is to keep it at a good humidity.
i need to know how to tell the humidity and keep it humidified?

humidity for corns is not really as big of a deal as humidity for say a bp.

House humidity is fine, and you can spray the enclosure/snake when in shed.
My corn has had perfect sheds in 22% humidity and in 44% humidity.

If you do want to measure humidity, you need something called hygrometer. You can get a round dial type from a pet store, or I believe some of the digital thermometers also measure humidity.

Yeah, humidity is not such a concern in corns.. too much can even cause problems with bacteria and health of the snake. Unless it is exceptionally dry in the room where the snake is kept, raising the humidity in the tank is uneccesary. During a shed cycle, just before they're due to shed (clear-eyed stage) you can bring the humidity up temporarily without negative effects, and it will help ensure a nice one piece shed (though not needed for one). Misting the tank, putting in a humid hide, and soaking are ideas. I use the humid hide method; cut a hole in a plastic container, dampen some paper towel or sphagnum moss, etc. in the bottom, put the lid on, place in the tank (I usually put it in between the hot and cool ends of the enclosure).
