What do you put mealworms in? They come in some stuff that looks like oatmeal or something, what is it? Thanks

I use a mixture of assorted grains/etc. ( cornmeal, oatmeal, bran, baby cereal with fruit )...you can use things like chicken mash as well.

The more the better :) Spirulina fish flakes, bee pollen, rolled oats, wheat bran, oat bran, wheat germ, 12 grain mix, pablum (I prefer mixed fruit), rye flakes, ground quinoa, dog food dust, rodent chow dust, etc. make up a good, nutritious substrate. Carrots, potato, and apple work well for water sources, but do not provide much nutrition. Bell pepper, cucumber, collards, etc. are both nutritious and a source of water as well. You are what you eat, so you want to provide a varied and nutritious diet to your feeder bugs as well ;)

You have to be careful with the chicken mash. Most types contain synthetic additives and hormones that you do not want building up in your reptile. From what I hear, duck starter is free of this though.
