Our female ball python with the same can of soda for size reference (she finally ate, I had to see if she was really fasting or just holding out, she was only holding out for a mouse, little brat!)

I love her colors she is so bright. She has white creeping up on most of her sides to. And you can't see it, but on one spot she has a white area on her side (going up from her belly) with an olive spot in the middle of it.

The male is about 3yrs old, the female is about a year I think.
She decided not to eat since november 25th 2003.
So yesterday I decided to find out if she was really fasting, or holding out. I offered her a live mouse (small, didn't even make a little bump) and she took it! little brat!
I think there are a few hearts on both of them. I liked the female because of the little "Coffey handle" on her back.
Thanks for the comments!
Those are really nice looking BPs. Have you downloaded the snake measuring software? It would be able to give you a pretty accurate measurement on them with the soda can as a size reference. Sorry to hear about the hold-off. Are you going to make her wait to eat again until she'll take a rat?
Sapphire, you caved! a mouse?! Shame on you.
It just occurred to me. If you were trying f/k or f/t rats before, and this time you tried a live mouse, maybe she was just going for it because it was live, and you would have had the same success with a live rat of a similar size?

lol mykee, I didn't cave, I was testing. I wanted to see if she was waiting for a mouse. She seems to be terrified of the rats, live f/k or f/t, doesn't matter on the size, from newborn to 2 wks and up, she just curls into the tightest ball, I can't even get to her head.
Since I know that she was just waiting. I might bulk her up on mice a bit, or keep a few for scenting. not sure yet. But I plan on getting a breeding pair for my w.hognose anyways. So I will probably give her a few feeding of a couple of large mice, and try to switch.
I have tried live, f/k and f/t she refuses all rats. I am sure she will take a f/t or f/k mouse no problem.
She has been a problem feeder from the start, she is still nice and round, but I would like to get a couple of meals in her

I love her colors, but the male will always be my fave, he was my first, and was tolerent enough with my newbie/non research/ pet shop advice care.
She (the one all stretched out, with lots of gold) on the other hand, is a real
