Hi!
I bought a male Kenyan adult for my females.
So, at the moment, I have not the place for him alone, so I put him with my female.
Yesterday, he pass his evening to breed my female kenyan.
So, if the breeding season is in july, do you think that the female can be pregnant, even if it's not the season?

I am a veterinary technician...so I know that panacur (fenbendazole) is not toxic to pregnant female in mammals, but is it the same thing in reptiles?

Thanks a lot

It's a bit early for loveridgei to be breeding but it all depends on whether they are on a regular yearly cycle. I've had May breedings so it's not really that early if they were cooled in late fall and then heated back up in Jan or Feb.
People have successfully bred Kenyans at all times of the year.
In general males wont pay any attention to female unless they are smelling right ie fertile, so it's certainly a good sign.
Feed her well and continue to let him breed her over the next month or two.

why do you have your snakes on Fenbendazole?? There is usually no need to deworm captive sand boas. I've certainly never done it.

Thanks again Stockwell for all this info!!!
You really help me!
I'm so happy, I want to breed my kenyans but I didn't think so early :)

For the fenbendazole it's because my male kenyan has pinworm...so I have put my male with my female before do stool analysis! :( (I know that it is not correct!!)
But the pinworm have a direct life cycle, and I don't feed my kenyan in their enclosure, so, the probability that my female is contaminate are small. So, for my male, I don't have the choice to treat him.
But, I think that I'll give him the time to breed her before treat him, because you said me that it is possible that my female will be pregnant and I don't want to stop their breeding with stress of treatment.

I'll don't treat my female if you think that it's not necessary.

Thanks again!
