what is the wierdest-looking creature you've ever seen? (doesn't have to be a reptile)

Jellyfish spawn would definitely be one. A friend and I were snorkeling and swam into millions of these little clear ping-pong ball sized jellyfish. No stingers, just little blobs of jelly as far as the eye could see. It was like being in an ocean of tapioca.

yeah, the fish would be cool.... i'm tryng to think of things that would go well in a zoo exhibit. As cool as the fish would be, i don't think they'd last real long, or be obtainable for us. I'm thinking about maybe some leaftail geckos, those guys are pretty wierd lookin. and bugs... i know there are a lot of wierd bugs out there. help me out guys... what other wierd stuff can you think of?

It's an El-Paca i believe.. El-something. The eyes and the afro you would think would be enough.. But what you can't see in this pic, is this guys teeth.. His bottom teeth come upwards towards his top lip and are the size of fingers.. it's HILARIOUS.. Nick was afraid to go near him when we stayed at the Hershey Center for the TP show.. Nothing like meeting up with him at 2am eh Nick?? :P

The pic was taken from the Totally Pets show this past september. I borrowed the pic from HQreptiles, as they posted it a while back.. :D

Haha, Matt, thats an Alpaca! LOL. They are commonly raised on farms. They have their hair sheered off every once in a while. Alpaca fibre goes for about $100 for enough to make about 2 socks, maybe three. It depends on the quality of the fibre. I've been in a fibre mill before. Anyways, normally they have about 3 inches of thick hair covering them. They don't completely sheer the top of the head though. The face does not grow much. It stays pretty well the way you see it. Yes, the teeth are pretty funny but they chew with all their teeth and those bottom teeth and the top teeth are the only ones that dont. they are mostly used for grabbing. Its pretty funny. BTW. If you every get caught in the crossfire between Alpacas(or Lamas, they're just bigger but pretty much the same), or Guacos(i think thats it, they are like an alpaca but beige and white) when they are spitting, just spit back. Its pretty fun. My uncle has 6 alpacas and 1 Lama. Also, alpacas are not only that colors. They come in pure while, brown, grey, combinations of colors, beige, black. Pretty cool little doods and an adult male(or some females.:D) could pick one up. LOL. Sorry for all my jibber jabber on them. Just thought i would add. They are pretty darn funny looking.

Matt, you say his teeth were as long as his toes? I hope your just exagerating because if they were, thats a serious issue. That thing is not on a proper diet if they are. By the way, the toes are called hooves:p.

Those guys are actually pretty friendly too.

LOL thanx Matt, I think that's the reason I couldn't sleep all weekend.
I flet bad for the poor guy though cause everyone else was getting food but we were all afraid to put our hands anyway near those teeth.

Chris, we asked the guy who owned it about the teeth and he just said they grew in like that. He also said he lent it to a guy for another petting zoo I think and gave the guy permission to shave a little off the ends of the teeth and the guy supposedly took off an inch and a half and they were still huge and crooked. LOL

Definitely the weirdest animal Ive ever seen and I spent 3 nights in the same building as it lol.

i know they're called hooves.. I was saying that the teeth were as big as fingers... And i was exagerating, they weren't that big.. But big enough.. Im proud to say that i was the first one to take the plunge and feed this guy while everyone else was feeding all the 'cute' animals..

lol. Good job Matt!:)

I guess from the context it seemed like you meant fingers. Didnt mean to pass you as "stupid" or anything.

you wouldn't be far off if you were saying i was stupid :D Not many brain cells left here  .. Either way, that thing is pretty insane looking, and not something i would want to have to tend to everyday.. I think that animals is the main reason Chappy (Nick) only slept about 2 hours that whole weekend.. Either that, or he had his shoes off for too long..
