Well after post a gazillion questions on this and every other forum about this species and that species, I finaly have descided to buy a 5 month old Sumatran Short Tail from the wonderful folks at NERD.

My only reservations at this point is that since its a male, he wont get to be as large and impressive as I would hope, do you think 4 foot is a bit too much to hope for with males of this species?

I do not own any of this species and I have never even worked around them but I think the main "impressive" draw to them size wise is their girth. I think you'll be pleasantly suprised by even a 3 foot male. :) Seeing them in person is just amazing, even with their evil little faces!

A 4 foot Black Sumatran STP is not at all like similar length in other species. Impressive is the total mass of it. My Sumatran Borgersmai (red) is impressive at 30" to friends and owners of other boid species. I also have a 4 ft ball which is pretty impressive, however, when I bring out my blood, they're really impressed!
Of the Sumatran curtus curtus, I personally love the orange headed ones with those big orange eyes... Very impressive indeed!

There nothing UNimpressive about a 4 foot blood. Their girth and their sheer power is extremely impressive at any age. :)

I agree with all these members. My male black blood certainly wows my friends over even when compared to my other larger snakes. Though the alert look and strike position of my ATBs frightens a few of my friends :)

You will be totally impressed by your new python curtus regardless of the length!
