By the time a bearded dragon is 6 months old, they should be close to full grown. If given the proper feeding/lighting schedules, beardies reach adult size fairly quickly.

Should be close to full length however it will take some time to fill out.

Keep up the research. Tell us about the tank, lighting, etc and maybe we can give you more info.

Out of curiosty, what exactly are your temps?? I know you said they're perfect, but by posting this here, you may get some added advice on your husbandry :)

The tank is a 20 gallon, I am using paper towel for substrate, the temps are as followed basking spot is near 100f and the cooling spot is around 80 at night time. The whole tank is around 70 and ive tried this for a few nights now and that is the temps that show on my thermometer each time. from my research that is about right anyway. the lights i have is a uvs/uvb light and a daytime heating light for reptiles is a 60w and the nighttime blacklight is also 60 watt. i have a hammock and some rocks with open places to hide in and some sticks for him to climb on.I also have a small water dish prepared to put lukewarm water in it when the beardie gets here....shallow of course, dont want baby drowning... i am ordering a baby female today and it should arrive tuesday cause they are shipping it monday....thanks for the help guys....

you need higher temps try a 100w and you will get the temps to about 110.

Be aware that beardies need a higher basking temp between 110-115 (as matt b said). Also he/she should not be housed in a 20 for long. They grow pretty quick and should be up to a 55 gal (at least) by the time they are 6-8 months.

I agree, temps should be a little warmer (110-115) and a 20 gal is or will be too small very soon.

They should have an enclosure that (at least) wider than they are long from head to tail. This should be at least 16" for an adult...Probably more.

Good luck with her. :)

True, but remember this is for the youngins. As he grows, you may want to reduce the temperatures closer to 95F. Do you have a UVB/UVA already?

Please tell me you are not housing bearded dragons in 16 inch tanks. An adult bearded dragon needs a minimum of three feet running space.

**EDIT**
Whoops, just saw you said width. Sorry.

for adult beardies optimal temps are 100-105 not 95.

Ok, You're confusing the crap out of me with all these seperate threads, Next time you can ask all the questions in ONE thread and it will be alot easier to answer.

Which one do you have the the 49 or 55??? how many beardies are you getting 1 or 2???? How can you possibly be ready in this short amount of time??? Describe to us the entire set up.

I'm not trying to be ignorant or rude, but you asked alot of questions and I personally don't think your ready. Wait a few months keep researching there will be PLENTY of beardies when your ready.

I am more than ready, ive spent weeks researching for them, i went to get a 49 that they didnt have and said they did so i got a 55, i have a 55 gal low, using sand substrate, i have a incandescent reptile heating light for basking the temp is around 110 degrees I am using a flourescent uva/uvb bulb all day, and at night a reptile black light. i have a water dish i bought for them to soak in, i am getting 2 female beardie's 6 mo.old. durig the day the temps are in between 80 and 85 degrees , the basking spot is 110 degrees night time is mid 60s i dont use heat rocks i have the food for them for when they come, some veggies and small crickets and some gutloading food for them. and i know the first few days they will be shy and off standing but i know that after the few days they should be good to be handled. and i have some branches and rocks in there and a hiding place on the cool side and about to have one made for the heated side just incase thats what they want, i done told the breeder this its bull you dont think iknow how to take care of them, and i dont think ive asked many questions about them just the stuff i couldnt find.

The 55 gallon is not going to be big enough for both of them to live in as adults, you should get at least a 75 gallon minimum. A 4x2x2 would be better though or even bigger.

Don't think every comment is personal, The whole reason we are on this site is for the animals.

A 55 gallon would be fine for one adult, but for two you might need something larger, especially since they are already 6 months old. My beardies are pretty active during the day, and make good use of their 4x2x2 enclosures.

Have they been living together already? If they haven't, they might not be to comfortable being kept together in such tight courters since they are both already adults.

Also, be careful with using sand and feeding them crickets, often you'll see them take mouthfulls of it along with the bugs.

How small are the crickets you bought? A 6 month old dragon will easily eat large crickets, and my females take 10-20 every couple of days. Also, mealworms/silkworms are good to mix things up with. I give all mine fresh vegetables every day, sometimes some pellet food, and supplemented crickets/worms every couple days.

As for hides, chances are they won't need one. The only time I would put one in is if they are gravid, in which case it would just be a bucket with some soil.

And as with every other animal, I wouldn't handle either of them for a least a week after you get them home. No need to give them any added stress than they will already have from the move.

Also, you might want to get a heating pad to put on at night. I wouldn't allow much more than a 10 degree drop from day to night, going from 85 ambient to 60 in a matter of minutes might not be the best. I'm not sure if this is standard or not, but mine love to dig into the substrate and lay over the heating pad while they sleep.

That's not true, Drew. Bearded dragons, at six months of age, have plenty more growing to do! I have a 19 month old beardie and he is still growing, even at 18 inches long! At six months, he was 16 inches long... but that's big for a dragon that age! Dragons are not considered full grown until at least 18 months of age.

As for the question: I don't even know what it was... lol. Umm... yeah.....
