Who else here has these wonderful Monitors? I know Brandon(Newline Reptiles), Ravi and soon Dean will. Just curious on who else keeps them. Here is a couple of photos of 2 of the 8 I am keeping for a future breeding colony. The first guy has TONS of blue on him, but the photo does not show it. The second guy is the lightest of the bunch, he kinda looks like a blackthroat. Well enjoy and let me know what you think :D

Hi Kahane,
Yes, I had a very large female, 122 cm total length, who was to say nicely, a real bitch. She came in nearly dead, and after months of hand feeding and soaking 2x/day, she began to feed on her own, almost exclusively on prawns and shellfish, an occassional pinkie too and hissing cockroaches which she enjoyed. I had her for 8-9 years before she just faded away and died - who knows how old she was?? She came in large, grew only 1/4 inch all those years. They are highly aquatic, live in primary forests/jungles eat mostly shellfish and invertebrates....
a wonderful a little understood animal...
cheers, thanx for sharing,
markb
