Egg Laying..........

How long is a cham usually in a lay container?.........I believe one of my females at the store is gravid, but I'm not positive. I put her in a bin today with her lights and soil..........how long should I wait before removing her?......I mean, if she doesn't lay. Like I said, I'm not entirely sure she is gravid.

what kind of cham a veilded, usually there in there one hole day thats if they have benn digging, what were her signs?

She just started getting really large in the mid-section. Her tummy started bulging over the vines when she was laying on them. Her temperment also changed drastically, this is the girl that will willingly climb all over me and sit on my head while I ring customers through.........the last week or so, she is huffing and puffing at me and turning awful colours of brown which is VERY unlike her.

well if she was not trying to dig then she might not be ready to lay yet but if she was spending time at the bottom of her cage she could be ready look for signs of digging. IF she dident dig today check her when u get in to see if she is digging make sure she has privacy too and make sure she is completly done covering her hole b4 u get her out.

I put the container in the back room, where only employees are allowed so she is in an area with little traffic and no view of any other animals. She was digging today in the corners of the container but I'm not sure if that was digging or just trying to get out. Ahhhh.........help.........should I take her out in the morning if she hasn't layed and give her a couple days?

Leave her in i think that tomorow she will dig. what kinda soil did u give her?

I took her out of the container today and put her back in her enclosure (under the advice of my mentor, Trace.........lol)....I am monitoring her for digging, etc and at that time I will return her to the lay container. She is not dehydrated at all and is moving around fine and eating normally so I will wait it out and see what happens.

Look for signs of her being on the bottom of the cage, or trying to get out of the cage any way possible. Then it should be time to put her back.
The soil should be wet enough to support a cave that will not collapse on her.
Look for robin-egg blue spots on her body. Small ones. They are not the usual pattern, but that is a sign of being gravid.
