Hey guys...I was wondering if you could post some pictures of your Igs and their enclosures. I am thinking of rescuing an Ig.

I have the room for a cage 6ft long. So I know thats long enough cause all I really need is height.

How is a cage 4x6x3 sound? The front being plastic coated wire.

Thanks,

- DOn Meyer

Hi Don, there's alot of pics been posted in some of the other threads as of late :) But here's a few of my girl, Larry, whom I adopted as well. Oh, before the pics, a few comments:
- 4x6x3.....is that 4ft high? If so, you'd be better off with at least 5ft high. Iguana's like to be up high, it makes them feel secure ( these comments are meant for an adult)
- the front of the cage being the plastic wiring is not a good idea because you will have a heck of a time keeping the temps stable.

JMO.

on with the pics:)

Here's a series of pics from building Lar's enclosure.

We turned a closet into an iguana home :)

LOL, it's been one of those days eh, here too.

K, with those measurements, I would increase the length to 6ft as well if possible.....considerring that the iguana can get upwards of 5ft +. Unless the one you adopt is special needs ( say, stunted growth or something similiar)

You cannot go too big with these guys. The general "guideline" for length of cage is iguana size X 1.5. So for a 6ft iggy, a 9ft long cage. That is a very general guideline tho. to just give you an idea. My girl is almost 45" and her enclosure is 6ft long....but, when she's back to not being a witch, she will resume free roaming that room she's in.

is there such a thing as dwarf iguanas? healthy of course, not small from malnutrition, but breeding :)

I don't have any good pics of the cage yet really, just the one below....the dimensions are 6 high, 6 long and 5 deep....She is getting quite comfy in there though so soon enough I'll need a bedroom!!!!
