Hey, I posted in the general forum a few days ago but didn’t get any responses, my ball had a patch of scales come off for no apparent reason they were discolored like a retained shed (grayish) and wrinkled, but it wasn’t shed, then the 5 scales just came off one night. Now the scales around them are discolored reddish and seem too be lifting, anybody know what might have caused this?? I'm worried it might be infected so I believe I’m going too take her too a vet but I wanted too know if anybody knew what it was, thanks,

Sounds like a bacterial skin infection of sorts. Could also be fungal. What is your setup like?

Hey, about 4 scales came off the first time, its 1 or 2 inches from her head, at first I thought she had caught it on something and it was unrelated too the fact the scales were grayish in color, then the next day it seemed too be swelled up slightly all around the missing patch, I washed it with bridine worried it might be getting infected, then last night all the scales surrounding the missing patch seemed too be lifting, and this morning, they too came off, doubling the size of the spot. Its still only small, and the skin beneath it white now not red like it was the first time. Should I continue washing it with bridine or would something be better??
Oh I almost forgot her setup seems fine, I checked the temps, using Astroturf at the moment, she has a very large water bowl that she can soak in, she’s lived in it for over 5 years, although the substrate changes from time too time.

I'll be in your town this weekend picking up some of my snakes. I can stop buy if you want me to have a look at him if you like.
If so just email me your tel#.
Also look up Dr. MacGregore on Smyth St. She is the best herp vet in all of NB. She's in the yellow pages.
Cheers,
Trevor
