Ive been checking these forums as well as looking up drips and drabbs of information on various boa species, Yet I still cant seem to get a clear picture of what boa species to invest in, I figured if I gave you guys some info of what space, finances, experience etc, I have you all could help me narrow my vision to a few species that might fit the bill. I could than focus my attention on researching those in particular and than buy a new baby boa!
So basicaly my only hands on experience has been with my ball python and everything is going very well I find caring for him relatively easy. My space will be limited and so cages that are 4 x2x2 will probably be the largest I can fit in my snake room for now. As far as price range is concerned I was looking to spen between 100 and 200 bucks. Any recomendations Id realy apreciate. Please realise that some care sheets and info on the net vary greatly and this can confuse those with limited experience Im not trying to be lazy by posting, but when one care sheet says Dumerils boas get 5-6 foot and another says the get 10 foot (just an example). Ive got to turn to people who have hands on experience, and those people are you guys :p Hope you can help.

Hog Island Boa all the way. Dums get BIG. Not long, just stocky. But they can still reside in a 4x2x1. I would go Hog though.

I would probably get a brb but they might get to big for that big of a terrarium. There are smaller boas for instance sand boas that I like the most but putting one of those in there and trying to find it as a baby would be like finding a needle in a haystack. (A piece of hay in a needle stack would hurt to much OWW!!)

I agree with Jeff hoggies all the way, but I do like the dumerils boas too.

I would go with a BCI! Will always be my favorite boa! Of course a male if you want it to fit in a 4x2x2....females CAN get big!
