Alright let the contest begin!
Post a pic of your biggest corn, with weight and lenght. A pic with the snake on a scale or next to a measuring tape would be good to if possible to help back up your claim.
Good luck,
Trevor

This is my buddy Mike, standing in our Garden last summer.

The corn was about 8' tall, did not have a tape measure at the time - Mike is 6' 2'', and I'm not sure what to weigh.

Ah, young grasshopper, I see you remembered what I taught you about changing thread titles.

(It had just said Corn, Trevor changed it to Corn Snake)

Sorry to sidetrack your thread, I saw the chance and I grabbed it.

Okay, here's some pictures of our big boy Morpheus. He's a little over 5'7" and I'm not too sure what he weighs as of yet:

5'7"???? How tall are you guys, 7'4"??? Sorry, that corn doesn't look that big at all. Invictus, i think i remember you saying you're somewhere in the 5'9 area (i could be wrong) going by those pics, i wouldn't say that snake is a couple inches shorter then you..

Yah, it kind of doesn't look that long, but beatiful and big specimen non the less.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. That is easily the biggest corn snake I've ever seen, I can tell that even though there isn't a proper size reference in the pic. I have a female snow that is just about bang on 4 feet and that snake would dwarf her, I'm absolutely sure of it.

I would like to see the same snake pictured with a ruler or something but I would bet it's 5 feet plus easily. Even if it's only 3 feet though it's still the biggest one anyone's posted so far. lol!

I'll re-measure him, but 5'7" (67 inches) is how big the snake measuring tool, which I've found to be quite accurate, measured him out to be. Most people who have seen him in person absolutely cannot believe his size. He tends to "scrunch up" a lot though, to make himself look thicker, but he stretches out diagonally across the double bed we have in the spare room, and when we had him in a 3' tank, he went from one end to the other, and back again. He's a lot bigger than these pics make him look.

I agree, it is the biggest one we've seen.. The only ones i have right now are about 24" so im not about to post them. LOL..

I agree though, i would love to see a pic with that snake beside a ruler or a meter stick, which ever..

Well most of us likely have the measuring tool so let's get a pic up and we'll settle this once and for all. Of course, being the only snake in the thread so far, he's still the reigning champ. lol! Are there really no challengers?? If this were a "fattest colubrid" contest my Great Plains Rat may be a contender at 1200g... but he's only 4 feet long.lol!

My big female is 5'6" and reasonably thick(no pics just now), but I recently saw a female in a local pet shop that had to be pushing 6', and was thick as a banana.....and apparently not gravid.

Old pic but here's my contender.

She is around the 800g mark. When I get her home from the breeding loan she is on I'll post a pic with her on the scale.
Cheers,
Trevor

From what I understand, creamsicle corns tend to be on the larger side. Has anyone found this to be true?

MouseKilla
03-17-04, 06:25 PM
Creamsicles have the Emoryi genes in there making them a heavier bodied snake but I don't think they would be any longer as Great Plains Rat snakes don't get much longer than 4 feet. You can't compare creams really to other corns because, strictly speaking, they aren't really corns.

Well no new pics but when she got home today from my buddies place where I sent her to be bred to his (mine now) hypo motley male I put her on the scales and she weighed in at 899g!
I can't wait to weigh her after she lays. Just think last year when I bought her at age 3 she only weighed 571g, nice weight gain.
Cheers,
Trevor

Trevor,

I take it she is currently visibly gravid then? I should weigh my swollen girl, see what difference the eggs in there make.

Big snakes, guys!

Now, it's not every kid friendly forum that you can comment on the size of people's snakes. Jeff must be doing something right.

An offspring fan, eh Invictus? :)

I wouldn't say visably so whe was just bred on the 21st of March.
After she lays her eggs for the season I'll put some food into her for a month and get a pic of her on the scale.
Cheers,
Trevor
