I'm pretty new to having a snake as a pet. I have a Lucistic Texas Ratsnake. Beautiful creature. She's going into shedding now, as her eyes are a milky color and her skin is pretty dull looking. Here's the problem though.

Normally, she's a solid white chocolate color, but I noticed tonight that she's turning slightly pink. I have no idea what this means and it has me a bit worried. Any one know?

Also, it's been at least five days since she turned opaque and went blue. Is it common to take so long?

Well my BP's belly is ALMOST pure white, but when she goes into ecdysis her belly turns a salmon pink. this may be whats happening to your LTR.

In a few days your snake will turn normal colors, but you wont beable to find a shed, she hasnt shed yet, once they turn norm it will be a day or to before she will shed. make sure she has a humid hide to get hydrated, and eas the shed off.

I soak my snakes, some dont do it, but i think it helps. If you soak, soak in a rubbermaid with enough warm water to cover her back. let her set for about twenty min. or so. i do this every day until shed.

All my LTR's go a bit pinky before shedding. Not too worry.

You can soak ur animals, but it is a lot of trouble to go though,
its easyer to just make sure the water bowl is big enough for her to curl up in, if she feels to dry she can do it her self.
As she's a TEXAS ratsnake, she probably will never need to do this in her life, but if she does just make sure that theres no TO MUCH water in the bowl, so it wont spill if she climbs in:)
