hey everyone, i have an adopted gecko here that i was under the understanding was a pictus gecko. But whenever i see pictures of pictus gecko's they don't look like mine. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

It looks like a pictus to me. Maybe you're seeing photos of babies, which look different than adults.

That's a pictus gecko. They do have a few different colour morphs available, maybe you've been looking at them in pictures? They come in dark phase which looks close to yours. There's also lighter brown and tan through to reddish/rusty brown, and even creamy white (not like albino). Some have stripes down their spine, and some have bars or banding like patterns running from the spine around to the side, almost to the belly. Colour and pattern wise, there are a lot of different 'phases', but the basic gecko is quite easy to distinguish.
Definately a pictus. Hopefully you dont have the little guy on sand anymore though.

Oh it's a pictus alright......just watch out that baby will mate with just about anything all year round!!!
