wouldn't it depend on what the hets were? such as 100% 66% etc...

100% het albino x 100% het pied.

Thanks

Piece of cake:

Not sure what you plan to do with the offspring, but good luck with that project. We're talking 10+ years to get anything out of it!

Statistically, 25% normals, 25% het albino, 25% het piebald, 25% het albino & het piebald (double hets)...

But of course all babies would look like normals, so basically you've just got a nice big mess of possible hets, and the only way to prove any of them out would be to breed them to either a known het, or an animal who displays the trait...

If your goal is to produce double hets for pied & albino, a better bet would be to breed an albino to a het pied -- that way you'd end up with 50% het albino, 50% double het pied & albino. You've still only got possible hets, but there's less "if's" in there, and you'd know for sure that the babies would all be het for albino, unlike the other option where you'd also end up with some babies that weren't het for anything.

The very best of course would be to have an albino & a pied and breed those 2 together -- but I know that not many people can afford a piebald at this point ;)

Hope that helps a bit...

A bunch of normals that are 25% possible het for something aren't really worth much. Given that your hets will run you into the thousands of dollars, you'd be throwing away a lot of money with almost no return. Your best bet is to get your hets in pairs, and try to produce the patterned offspring, ie, get 2 het albinos and try to produce albinos.
