Hi all, Sorry if this has been brought up before, but was discussing this with a friend of mine and wondered what your thoughts are on it.

Would you rather own a giant snake with an aggressive or a tolerant (thought tame would be a bad word) temperament???

At first i would prefer a snake with an aggressive temperament so you never became too relaxed or complacent with it, as u would know what to expect and be readily cautious, reason being a friends "tame" burmese struck at him after being out for 10 mins deffinetely taking him by surprise but fortunately did not get him. Then again i dont favour the thought of owning a 14ft plus snake that wants a bit of you every time you have to change the water lol.

Kind reguards Cheers Will

I myself like having a handleable burmese opposed to an aggresive one we have both. Even while handleing the "tame" ones we use extreme caution as you never know what could happen. I have been tagged to many times by snakes that we thought would never bite to let my guard down.
As for the aggressive ones they will tag you as you said even when you go in to clean their enclosure or do simple maintenance. Not to much fun in that except for a display animal.

Cheers
Les

If someone in my house dared to touch my snakes id be the aggresive one i tell ya.
My snakes arent aggresive at all, but I like both aggresive and non aggressive snakes. The best of both worlds....its all about balance. ;)
