Have to show off our Irian Jaya

With so many Irians being shown off, I just have to add our 2.5 year old Irian Jaya male relaxing after a feeding. He is a great snake - so much calmer than our Jungles, never bites and is active but gentle to handle.

He was bred by Karel Bergman from Calgary and is now about 5 feet long. We think the Irian Jayas are great pythons - perfect size, excellent feeders, beautiful coloration and deserve to be more popular. Nice to see they have such a firm following on this list.

I remember when my little IJ missed her snack one time and caught my finger instead ! I am so happy she was only 2 feet long when I see this one now... !!! LOL :)

Thanks for the positive comments - I got lucky with that shot. I am greatful this guy doesn't bite and with the way they hit prey, we are pretty careful with the big tongs at feeding time.

Now that I have figured out how to post photos I will have to figure out how to enter the contests!!

Here are a couple shots of him. They always look so small in photos, but he is quite thick and about 5 feet long. They really are beautiful snakes.
