What does "deleted user" mean?

I used to PM with someone on this site occasionally and tonight I noticed that the old PMs from this user, instead of having the user name, it now just says deleted user. I looked in the members list and there is no mention of the user, and I also can't find any posts for this user, even on threads that I know were posted on. This was someone who was always polite and very knowledgeable, so I can't imagine a ban being in place. Just not sure what to think?

Sounds like Jeff or a mod might be better able to help, try sending one of them an e-mail.

If a user was deleted it was by there own request. If a user asks to be deleted all of there posts will be set to Guest.
