I was just flipping through my old reptile magazines and read over the retic primer. I was just wondering if anyone had some decent info on dwarf retics. There care shouldnt be that different from the normal ones except for size but what exactly is the adult size of a specimen ?? male and female ??
..and if you have any pics it would be much appreciated.
Cheers, RYan

The word "dwarf" has been assigned with some debate to several locales of retics. Size will vary depending on the specific local you are refering to. Most dwarf retics are Jampea dwarf retics. The largest adult females I've seen are around 3ft. Most stay between 10-12 though. Other retics that have been named dwarves without any real debate are the kuyadi and the Super dwarf. they get much smaller. They are a lot harder to find cb. Others that have been debated are the Bali and Seleyar isalnd retics. I've seen Seleyar females that are 14ft. and heard of bali females that were 15ft. Once again though, those were big examples. I've never heard anything to indicate that their husbandry should be any different than a mainland retic. Hope this helps a little.

Oh, you asked for pics. Here is a pic of my female bali. She's a little less than a year old and about 4.5'.

I have other dwarf retic pics, but I don't feel comfortable posting pictures of snakes that aren't mine. I can e-mail them if you'd like.
