I got my parahybana back safe and sound! YAHOOO!

I opened a cupboard above where I keep my slings and saw this huge black spider clinging to the door! Never was a girl so delighted to be surprised this way!! Next was a feeling of panic, because if it fell...

He managed to keep his foothold long enough for me to find a delicup. I feel bad because I never did search UP from the countertop, only down. Because the Shultz book said terrestrial T's will head downwards...stupid me, and a lesson learned (I hope). Well, he's back, and in a new enclosure, and suddenly has a name.
I do not want all my T's to have names, I prefer the scientific of what it IS, but I blurted out 'you little scaliwag!' when I saw him, and it has stuck in my head...darn.

Now where on earth did that word come from, out of my brain??:o

Eesh, he did not go far in the two weeks he has been gone. And I wish I had searched better, since I could easily have squished him by shoving something in the cupboard. That would not have been a pleasant feeling at all!
Scali hasn't eaten yet, but he took to the underside of the clay dish I provided right away, and is accliming...

So happy that you've found your T!

Only recently have I started to understand the panic in losing a T, it took living though the experience myself, lol!

I had gotten a few a. avic slings and decided to set some up in a communal enclosure. 5 slings were kept together in one small kritter keeper. I had placed a lining of screen mesh between the container and lid to prevent the little buggers from escaping.

With the excitement of these new arrivals, I kept checking in on them very often during the first day. In the evening, as I was peeking on them again, I found it curious that I couldn't spot even one of them.

That was because all 5 of the buggers had escaped!!!! I managed to find 4 of them in a few minutes just a few feet above in my bookcase, but the last one was M.I.A. A day or so later, I was talking to my bf when out of the corner of my eye, I saw something on the wall. Sure enough, it was the last missing sling!

I can't believe how lucky I was! I had 2 leopard gecko enclosures without tops in that same bookcase along with 20+ Ts. If any sling had walked into any of those, I'm sure he would have been munched!

What a relief!!!

I'm glad that your bugger is back home safe and sound!

It is a good idea to read the books. It is a better idea never to forget that the Ts haven't read them, though. ;)

Cheers,
