I use this for my Kenyan and he loves it. Smells great, easy to clean, great for burrowing. Just wondering if anyone had thoughts on this for a King - I don't feed on it.

Thanks

If you do not feed on it it is ok but there is still a chance of ingestion....... With snakes its minimal but still there....... I would not keep leopard geckos on it......... Actually I would not keep anything on it......... Carefresh and papertowels are the substrate of choice for me.......

Try it if you'd like, but personally I've had good results with my king on aspen. Ultimately it's your call - I would still be a little leery of a piece of shell going in where it shouldn't.

So is aspen okay if they injest it?

Nothing should be ingested but food, anything else may cause an impaction. Best idea, feed in a clean seperate Sterilite tub.

I know, it just boggles me how people will say one loose substrate is bad because of possible injestion but that another loose substrate is okay - as if the same issue isn't a problem. I think it's safe to say when using any loose substrate you shouldn't feed on it and there's still the risk.

I'm guessing there aren't many who have tried the crushed walnut shells for kings.

Thanks!
