in this last pic you can really see how the hip bones are now gone and she has a nice big stomach...before she was kinda skinny/emaciated...she still has some wrinkles though, is that normal or is she still in the phase of becoming fully healthy?

thanks 4 looking!!
Looking good man, the hips look much better.
I have to agree with crocdoc in the other thread mentioning that you may want to add extra dirt.. FYI i've noticed that savannahs like to dig in sandier dirt, something easy to dig, but still burrows.. I added some playsand to my dirt that i dug up, and it works much better..... Good luck

the monitor is looking much much better. Well done! Don't worry about wrinkles, they're normal. Get rid of those and you'd have one obese monitor!

Probably males.
Males get considerably larger from my expierience..

And MOST of the time (not always) the larger of the species is a male.

not true really, for snakes (like boas i know) the female is bigger..and for most spider species the female is much bigger right?
You are both right. Bartman just listed the (not always).

For different animal species, whether the male is larger or female larger depends on a few things, one of them being the reproductive strategy of the species. For species in which the males physically compete for females, males are often larger. In most monitor species, males get larger than females.
Sometimes you can have two strategies in a single species. Female diamond pythons get larger than males. The males hang around the female in groups, but don't fight. In some populations of carpet pythons, which are a different subspecies of the same species, the males combat for females and get larger than the females.

I wasn't talking about spiders, just reptiles. I don't know that much of snakes, so forgive me. Leave it to you to solve things, doc:)

Awesome Bartman! He looks just like my old guy!!!!!
Have you ever held a cricket above its head? MY guy would rear up and go for it.
Oh and I would also feed him the occasional fuzzy.....MAN was it cool to watch him thrash that helpless little thing around LMAO
