probably a 55 gallon. But like meow says, you probably won't have the means to support a beardie if you are already thinking about how to cut corners. But good luck to you

I agree with the above posters... if you want to own a beardie then you must be willing to put forth the money and give them the best that you can.

For an adult beardie, a 50 gallon (which is 2 ft. wide, 3 ft. long and 20 inches high, I *THINK*... I'll measure more accurately when I get home). If you want to give them a good size home, I'd go with a 75 gallon.

I kept mine in a 75gallon tank and needless to say he used every square inch everyday. It gives the animal a proper heat gradient as well as room to rome. Dont cut corners on space with these guys because the really do need alot of space. They are inquisitive creatures that like to explore and develop a personality persay and you will not be able to fully experience the joy of having a beardie with such a small space.

agreed, they do make complete use of every inch of space offered. And they are chalk full of personality aswell!

ok, thanks all. I'm not getting one. well i might in like a year or two, but i was just wondering, cuz ******** has them in a stinkin 20 gallon tank. one adult per tank. its so stupid. i think someone should talk to the person that runs all the ******** and make them get bigger tanks.

Just for the record, not all ******** put beardies in 20 gallon tanks, especially adults. I have been to their stores from LA to Vancouver and I've never even seen one that sold adult beardies. They have a number posted by all their animal enclosure for you to call if you see a problem or want to talk about their animal setups. I strongly encourage you to go back and get the number so you can give them a call. They need to hear about stuff like that. Also, it is the manager in the "Pet Care" department who orders the animals and is responsible for making sure their needs are met. You can talk to that person as well.
