MY corns enclosure

This is my corns enclosure, it's a 27G. I like paper towel because it's easy and safe. He also likes the margarine container more than the other hides. I put the container in there for a humid hide. I have a Hygrometer(sp?) in there and it stays between 27-32 most the time. Is this humidity level dangerously high?

No that is fine really. Average room humidity is usually good for corns. 32% isnt dangerously high at all considering my average room humidity is 30%.

Corns can be happy at almost any humidity level. Their native habitat ranges from sub-arid to almost swamp-like. Any humidity level is ok, although I don't recommend keeping them at extremely high humidity for long periods of time, because RI becomes more likely.

sounds fine to me. My corn has had perfect sheds in 22% humidity, and in 40% humidity. Looks great!

Is that sticky thermometer one thats just stuck there or is that the one you are actually using?

Yes, it's one I use. But I also use two Exo-Terra's round thermostats, as well.

Unless you put those round thermometer right on top of the heating pad then it probably isn't measuring it right. It's measuring the amibiant (sp?) temp. JMO! digi's are the best, put the prove right over the UTH (under the paper towel) and you will get the "right" temps.

Sapphire, where did you get your digi-thermometer. I've been looking for something like that but can't find anything under $100 and I'd really prefer not to have to spend that much just on a thermometer.

wal-mart, Umm at my wal-mart they are in the same isle as the nuts and bolts. Just ask an associate, they have some for like 13 dollars and some for like 15 dollars that have the humidity/lowest/highest temp on it as well. But It is also with the extension cords and such.

yeah, the digi's are great, they do "in" (ambient), "out" on a 10' probe, I stick mine on the heat pad, and humidity for 14.88 USD @ walmart

Looks great. It sure is high though. Is that theremometer stuck the glass the only thing you have to measure the temps?
With the tank bing so high you may get a better basking spot by adding an UTH. However if the basking spot is 88-90 then you're doing fine.

You can get good digital thermeters in the seasonal section of almost all Walmarts and most hardware stores.
