I've got a sterilite tub that I plan to use as a quarantine/holding/feeding cage for snakes. Everything's all set up, except I'm not sure where, how many and how to make the ventilation holes. I can't remember how many quarts it is, but the dimensions are: 20Lx12Wx12H

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

IMO only when I did the holes I went 1 inch apart all the way around about 3-5 inches from the top of the tub. On my large tubs I did a zig/zag, where one hole was 3" down and the next 4" down, back and forth all the way around.

Ventilation holes can be drilled or my buddy used heated nails. If the nails are really hot it goes through so easily.

or a soddering iron, melts right through it.

For a container that size, I would put 3 1/4" holes 2 inches down on the two short sides, and maybe 5 1/4" holes two inches down along the two long sides. If you put too many holes, you're container won't hold humidity for poop.
