Incubating corn eggs

Hello i have some corn eggs on the way and i will be using a Hovobator to incubate them my questions are should i use vermiculite on the actual screen rack in the hovobator? Or should i use a rubbermaid container with vermiculite in it and does 80f sound good to you for corn eggs. I only ask these questions because this is my first time attempting to incubate eggs thanks in advance Blair.

I would definitely use a rubbermaid container with vermiculite. According to Kathy Love temps of 82-88F are good with 85F being optimum but they will also hatch at 80F. It will just take longer and you may not have the best results.

I incubate mine at about 84F with some fluctuations (not intentional but not drastic either). Like Jeremy said, 80F would probably work fine but you'd likely get better results from a higher temp. :)

Thanks i just read a bunch of care sheets that recomended using 80f i will use temps of 84f-85f thanks again JD, and Tim.
