Hey everyone!
Just wanted to do a little explaining, for those of you who saw me hopping around like a dork at the show yesterday!
It was because I just got a new tattoo on Saturday, and my foot poofed up like a freakin' blowfish! It's still swollen, and I was going to post a pic but decided it was too gross, lol. (This one was taken right after the tattoo was finished, which is why my foot still looks normal.)http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/500/3582IMG_5751-med.JPG
And oh yes, many thanks to Rob and Stav, who both carried me at points throughout the day!! Thanks guys!!

lol gimpy. your foot is on fire!! probably feels that way too. hehe.
Very nice looking tat, i can only imagine how swollen that must be and how bad it would feel to put any pressure on it. When i got my leg done, it swelled right up and hurt like crazy just walking.. It looks great though, and the pain is all worth it after the swelling is gone and the tat is healed :)

Yes it's still swollen!! It sucks right now! But yes, the pain and discomfort will be worth it in the end. I got sick of hopping everywhere, so I've started wheeling myself around my appartment in my chair, lol! And I'm getting pretty damn good at it too. Right now however, I've got a bag of frozen french fries on it to try and get the swelling to go down. lol
I've had a few people suggest that I go get a doctor to look at it -- how many of you guys have had tattoos swell up? What did you do about it?
I was just planning on sucking it up and hangin out with my french fries, lol, but now I'm not so sure. Any advice?
i'm not sure what a doctor will do for you, it will go down eventually.. Like i said, my Leg ballooned up the day after i got it and the pain was horrible, but it went away after 2-3 days. the same with my wrist, it tripled in size and i still had to work the next day.. It wasn't pretty, but the swelling definatly went down within 2 days.. Is the cold from the fries helping at all??? Have you noticed the swelling going down at all? How about the pain, is it taking care of that at all?? I would say that if the swelling lasts longer then a few days, maybe then seek some doctors advice, but all tattoo's swell, atleast in my experience..

The degree to which you swell is usually individual, if you normally swell from a tat then its normal. If you don't usually have any swelling, I'd keep an eye on it............JMO

Hmm, ok thanks for the advice... This is #10 for me, and the first 9 didn't swell at all. But it HAS gone down a bit, and doesn't really hurt much unless I try to put pressure on it -- just a pain in the butt!

Great tat Suntiger :) Dont know what possessed you to get it there though Ouch!!! Like Matt was asking it would depend on alot of things but I would be carefull only because of where the tat is and there is alot of bacteria on a foot. You will want to keep it dry and in fresh air, just a thought!
When i got mine on my back though mind you, I did not swell at all so I cant help you to much with that part maybe if you did post a pic the ppl can give you a better idea weather it is normal or not.

I've got a couple of tats, mind you none in that area, but none of mine have ever swollen. Could be due to the fact that the skin is being constantly irritated with shoes/socks. Try to let it your foot be 'free' for a few days, should clear up.
I'm sure it all depends on where you get the tat for the amount of noticable swelling.. Im sure you were able to walk fine just after it was done, but the next day, all that pressure that was put on the foot after the tattoo'ing comes back to bite you on the.... foot... Thinking back, the only tats that i have gotten with any substantal swelling were my wrist and leg.. Both area's that are pretty much constantly moving. So i guess the added stress on the area makes for more swelling?? Just a thought..

Nope, I won't be getting a tiger on the other foot ... it's already covered by an assassin bug!

No pain no gain LOL I think that most of the swelling is due to the fact that its your foot & that you spent lots of time on your feet since its been done. Try to keep barefoot & if you keep it elevated will help also. Remember that the more you walk around etc. the more your foot will probably swell. If it makes ya feel any better I just got "drilled on" for 3.5 hours yesterday on my shin/ankle area & was limping pretty good last night. Today its great though, no swelling or nothing. Mind you I kept off it as much as possible & kept it elevated most of the evening. I wouldn't worry about the swelling unless it looks like an secondary infection is setting in & then I would consider a doctor as infections that end up being blood oriented travel through the body fast! I think that most of it is probably due to the sensitive area & the fact that you spent a lot of time on your feet instead of resting after. Slow down girl & relax, let that sucker heal, LOL. Good Luck Mark

Ouch! That must have hurt like a son of a b**ch, especially closer to the bottom of the foot. I would have been pretty gimped after that too, awesome tat though. :) The worst experience for me was when I got a tattoo all the way around my navel...the nerve clusters there are PLENTY *LOL* I sure took standing up and sitting down for granted until I had that done...it took forever to heal too. I would imagine that yours would take quite a while as well to heal as it's in a high friction zone. When I had my ankle done (all the way around), it swelled pretty good, I just avoided socks, wore lose comfy sneakers, and kept it elevated as much as I could.

Incredible tat, Suntiger. Man, I thought the ones on my chest were utter torture, I would never be brave enough to get my foot tattooed... ugh... I bow to your bravery. Hope the swelling goes down soon.
That assassin bug tat is awesome! :D

Wow those are some sweet tatts you have.... I never had that problem with mine but I guess everyone has different reactions...right? When I was getting the one on the top of my foot I felt it in my knee and a couple of other places due to the nerves in my foot... did you experience that at all? Anyway just wanted to say that love your tatts for sure they are wicked!!! and thought well we are on the subject I would share mine....
Cheers!!!! ;)

Very nice! I didn't feel anything in my knee though, at least not with the sun ... can't remember if I felt it there when I got the assassin bug done...All I can say is that the side of the foot kills wayyyyy worse than the top!!! But it's all worth it in the end :D
Cool Tat and good idea to Suntiger ;)
