Cool snakes, I'm assuming they are Lystrophis semicinctus. Those are 2 very nice specimens.

Hope breeding goes well for you, I would definitely consider some captive bred offspring.

lol, talk about talent.. I know of a couple guys who would LOVE to be able to sleep on their own side of the bed and still get action without the discomfort! ;)

Just out of curiosity, could a heterodon breed a lystrophis? or is hognose just a term like ratsnake, where some rats cant inter breed

That's awesome Simon! :D Best of luck with those guys... that will likely be the first time these guys have been bred in Canada, eh? I don't really think I've seen them around at all.... Congrats! :)

Are those the same ones that were at the show? I looked at them and thought about them all day... sitting right beside that table, how could I resist looking at them the whole time ;)

I'm certainly going to read up on them to see if I could manage to keep them properly. What info I've dug up so far makes me think I'm adding them to my wish list.

Just a question about the care info online.
It's not generally a good idea to judge the quality of info on a site by the looks of the site itself. However, I've heard Hognose.com recommended a lot, so I'm assuming that the info is pretty reliable and correct?

Curiousity question: Just how long do the females get? I've been reading up on the tri-color hogs and have found how long the males get, but nowhere did I see any mention of female lengths. Yours look like they've got a heck of a size difference, so it makes me think the females would be 'giants' compared to the males? Also, are they a slender snake or chunky?
