Hey all,

I clipped this video from the BBC's Best of Nature documentary. Like the subject says, it's a Giant Python bringing down prey. It's an amazing video.

I would ask that people not share the link beyond this site. If you want to share it, download it to your machine and share it from there. I don't want to have my entire bandwidth allotment used up from linkage.

http://www.ody.ca/~mwagner/giantpythondivx.avi

It's high quality and 39 meg in size.
This link will self destruct on tuesday :)

Are you trying to watch it in the browser or saving it to disk first?
It's not streaming video so you could end up waiting 10 minutes before anything shows up.

If you've got it saved to disk, then you need the DivX 5.x codec to play it. I changed the audio layer from AC3 to Mp3 so it would be more compatible with people's setups :)

I downloaded it, but, I couldn't view it. (It started to play, but there was no image). I guess I don't have the minimum requirements on the computer to view it. :(

Your codec just might be out of date.
Here's the latest:

Still can't see it? Even with DivX installed?

If you're using windows media player nine, then I'd suggest trying out the old 6.4 version hidden in the windows directory.

Click "Start" then "Run"

It will ask you to type the name of the program you want to run. Type MPLAY32.

From there just use that version of media player to open the file. :) I use the old version to watch most of the video I download, because some encoded videos stop working any time media player 7 or later update themselves.

(just tested it with version 5.1 as well. works fine with divx)

wow that was soo cool. I remember catching that on discovery a few months ago. I tried to explain it to a friend once, didn't work very well...

Imagine waking up, and all you can see is the footage from the inside? wow, that'd be traumatizing for sure. That is if you were to miraculously escape that is...

sunrunner: follow the link do divx5.11 that was provided, download the file, run the setup. Once it is finished installign oyu should be able to watch the video.

sorry, it was already taking up twice the space alloted to my account. I didn't want to get shut down for excessive bandwidth use either.

At least 100 people downloaded it though, so someone has it to share.
