Hey guys,

I'm getting a little worried about the rest of my clutch. The first big, healthy baby made a grand entrance yesterday (His hatch was quite energetic!) It's been nearly 24 hours since the first baby hatched, and we're not seeing any since of life from the other eggs. They are all dented, and there hasn't been any major disturbance to them (ie-temp fluctuations, etc....) When should I be worried by? These eggs were candled a few days ago, and there was movement and obvious life inside. I don't know if I'm being paranoid, I hope I am. Is there such a thing as an early bird that hatches a few days earlier than all the rest? But, they are all quite heavily dented. Anyway, if I'm being manic, sorry, this is just my first clutch of anything, and I feel like a fretful grandmother. Any info would be very helpful....thanks again guys...you're always such a huge help.

Jess.

Sometimes it can take a few days for all of them to hatch out. as far as the dented eggs go, i've had a few dented or eggs i thought were bad hatch out with perfectly fine babies other ones didn't make it. It's all a waiting game to me. I personaly have not opened an egg myself, but that's because i don't feel i have enough experince to do it correctly. Do you or can you take a pic of the eggs that may help some of us help you. Sorry i couldn't help more.

When a baby hatches, wait until he is completely free of the egg and move him to a seperate container inside the incubator (so he doesn't disturb any of the other eggs, shift them etc.).

It is not unusual at all for dragon clutches to hatch over a week to a week and a half span. Don't try to manually remove the baby....do not disturb the egg, slit the egg, etc. You may have a couple that don't end up hatching, but be patient and I'm sure the rest of your clutch will hatch soon.

Good luck with the new babies.....
