Meet the reses

These are my reses that I rescued last yr. They basically lived in 5 gallon pails with not enough water eating table scraps luckily someone called me and since I run an animal rescue center I rescued them.

Got a question that may sound odd but how do RES's grow do they shed parts of their shell or what/how does it work?

They shed like a snake. Kinda flakey like.

Glad to see they found their way to a good home :) It's deplorable the conditions turtles seem to be so often found in. A friend of mine took in a Painted turtle he found... it was living in a fish bowl (no water) with a slice of bread :mad:

Yah I don't have a snake but you know it was an example. Yah these reses shells are slowly getting rid of the cuts. The white marks get smaller and smaller.

Kewl I own a Ball python and rescued a res turtle and was put on a fast learning curve so when I was moving him one day to clean his cage part of his shell kinda flaked off in my hands and starting getting worried if that was normal or not since having a BP who when sheds Sheds everything in one nice roll got me thinking that it was hopefully just a normal thang Thanx *g*
