Ok well this afternoon is Oreo's second trip to the vet. She still isn't eating on her own.

Last night I fed her some baby food by dropper, and this morning had a nice moist poop (fresh) that I will take in and have a second fecal done just to be extra sure.

When I looked at her poop, I could see some of the baby food the same color as in the jar, which is leading me to belive it IS a lack of digestive enzymes... I mean baby food is pretty simple to digest so if some came out like it went in it most likely is that (I think)

I will ask my vet about the GSE and yoghurt and see what they say, I was also suggested Panacur I will mention that also... I really don't want her to be tube fed... but at this point, it has been at least a full 2 weeks no food (except the baby food last night) so I may have no other option.

Anyway, it is 11 AM now, and the appointment is at 1:45 so once I see the vet, I will post an update here. Just to keep whomever was interested up to date...

ok well just got back from the vet. They tube fed her some food mixed with something (can't remember the name right now) to boost her digestive enzymes.
They gave me some to bring home. put a pinch in with baby food every day and hand feed her. hopefully this will help.. If not then only option os maybe Xrays or blood work to see if maybe it is an organ problem..

Good news is she hasn't lost any more weight. she gained 0.1 gram. so we shall see how it goes this week...

Sigh, so frustrating when everything is perfect healthwise, (physically) but you can't figure out why they won't eat :(

thanks nguyen.. I hope so too.. hopefully the boost of the digestive enzymes will clear thing up. she still shows interest in food, but she won't eat it, kinda like a tummy upset, you can be hungry but the pain from eating puts you off.

Does anyone know if i have to give her the digestive stuff (either with yoghurt/grapefruitseed extract or this powder) for the rest of her life? or will it stay stable if given for a week or two or whatever?

It depends really. Are the enzymes being provided possibly because she hasn't eaten in a while, and her system is weak now? I'd say that is a possibility. Was it pedialyte they added?

Hi Gino,
No it wasn't Pedialyte.. it is a powder.. I believe starts with a B (sorry not at home, can't check) and it is a powder that does what GSE and yoghurt can do in that it increses the GOOD enzymes to help digestion. apparently it does happen that reptiles don't produce enough, and this helps boost it, which in turn helps them digest more which gets them back on track to eating normally on their own (no tummy pain etc.. so they assume they can eat again..) We have to try it out for a week, and see how it goes after that. I am mixing it with baby food for now and after a week of this, I will try to see if she will hunt for me... if she does, then hopefully we will be ok. I'll keep you posted...

hey, computer was down... good to hear the little girl got some food in her. hun, the GSE isn't going to do anything to increase digestive enzymes, it just helps kill the "baddies". so i would lay off that and just give her the stuff from the vet. once she's established a healthy gut flora you shouldn't need to keep giving it, unless the problem is an enzyme she is unable to manufacture. but hope she come around-- keep us posted!
