Nice looking male....... The female look alittle dehydrated to me....... The person that had them before you must not have been a very good keeper........ I am sure you will pull her through though........ Good luck with them they are awesome....... :)
Yes both animals are a bit dehydrated Greg, I mist them frequently so that they can drink as much as they want. The former keeper didn't know jack sh*t about these animals.. It's a shame that people like that can buy snakes or other animals..I am trying all my best to pull them through and hope they will make it :)

Niek not sure if you have live stock supply shops over there but if you do you may want to concider getting some packs if they ahve them of vitamen and electrolite powder dilute it down in your misting solution for them. I have not used it on arboreal vipers myself but have great success with vipers and cobras reistablishing them back to to great health. Those are some real beauties you have look forward to some pics of them at 100%. Keep up the cood work
Scott
Hi Scott, In a few minutes I will got to a shop to get live animals and will also look for some vitamin supplies of some sort and hopefully they have what I am looking for but I guess they will..
When they are a oke I will post a before and after pic :)
Cheers Niek
Probably a good idea to soak them for a bit too. Gets them rehydrated quickly and will get that retained shed off. Just keep the humidity high with them. Best of luck. I can't wait to get Trimerserus albolabris myself.

:) Now there's the understetement of the year! :p

:) like I mentioned in a previous post, Skin78 and the snakes are staying in my house at the moment..
I'm aveterinairy technician, so rehydration substances and vitamin supplies are unlimited for me :)
Unfortunately I myself haven't got that good of experiences with misting electrolite solutions.. the drops that dry out leave a layer of salt and sugar on the animals which might be bad for the skin and overall condition of the snake..
And, just for info (since Skin78 is asleep, 2 in the morning over here :p ) one of the animals just ate a pinkie
(but I don't know if it's the male or female, since I've got no desire to go into the quarantaine room for the moment)
Cheers,
Peter
Hi mates,
Well both animals ate for me :) So that is a very good sign.. Now we have let the female soak for some time ( 2 hours) that took care of some old skin but she doesn't drink from the water.. she only drinks the drops when I mist her cage..

When using Rubbermaid or the like for venomous, I have found that you can make them pretty secure. I simply number the lid and the side of the container in a way so that I know which lid goes where and how itis orentated ont he box. The I Pop holes in several places through the lid and the lip and secure the lid with zip ties. By numbering the lids and having correct orientation, you are sure that the holes always line up.
that is indeed a good way to be safe.. I have seen by a friend of mine who also uses these rubbermaids that he drilled holes on both sides of the cages and put bolts through them.. just small bolts but it is shut like h*ll.. no snake can get out that way.. I am planning on buying my own rubbermaids next week and then make them that way .. when I 'm done I will post a pic so you can see what I mean :)

very nice looking snakes you got there. What is the damage a bite from one do?

They are not particularly life threatening but all venomous snakes should be handled with pure respect and all bites should be treated accordingly......... It is not fun to get bitten by a venomous snake no matter how mild the venom may be....... I cant wait to see pics of these two when they are up to par...... Atleast you got them feeding........ Hydration is the most importand then the feeding..........
Well a bite of these animals is most of the time not life threating but when you are bitten by a large animal death can be a thing that you have to deal with.. The bite will hurt like hell and you are most likely to lose a finger or more. So venomous is venomous so treat them with respect.
Oke the female just has shed and she is looking great!!!!!All the old skin has gone off so now I can get her to feed some more so that the shortage of all vitamines and calcium will go :)

Beautiful Trimerserus pair! I'm sure that female is equally as gorgeous as the male after she shed her old skin. I'm glad to hear that you're taking proper care of them now, they'll be healthy, long-lived snakes now. Good luck with them both. :)
